The "CES," as it has been named, hasn't been my cup of tea as of late, and I'll admit -- I'm beginning to miss nature, in general. What I wouldn't give for a port with horses, for instance.

For now, flora will suffice sans fauna. Would the current keepers of the greenhouses feel especially offended if I were to visit and simply meander a while?

[Private to Alpha]

We should meet soon and sit down to chat. With the changes to the environment I suspect that the Admiral expects the lot of us to prepare, and I do not know how readily you've been accessing the CES or the CTS.

My cabin, yours, or the pub?

I don't suppose anyone would care to join me for a beer in the pub. This near-ubiquitous tension over the last few weeks does tend to strain the nerves some, and I figure a little friendly conversation and imbibement would not be amiss.

[Private to Rorschach]

A point of inquiry, if you wouldn't mind. Why maim the boy?

[Private to Chris D'amico]

You'll forgive the concern of a simple old man, I'm sure. How are you feeling?

To anyone that would care to listen and converse with me: I would like to talk to you about graduations, here, since there have been several in the time since my arrival on this ship. I will admit that it warms the heart some to see them happen. It provides some proof that this place does what it claims to do, but until I've an Inmate of my own I am just a humble outside observer. [He shrugs.] I'm sure there are some that doubt -- people who do not believe redemption has been truly attained, or that Wardens have not earned their bargain in seeing an Inmate cross the threshold. This would not surprise me; people are given quite often to a remarkable variance of opinion and perspective. I would like to hear them, if people are willing to share.

So very strange to speak into a book -- not even write into one! -- and trust that others shall hear me! Nevertheless, I'm not one to allow my own ignorance of new technology to get in the way of good manners. It took quite some time for me to acclimate myself to anesthesia -- a new invention in my time, barely five years old! -- but frustration would have only discouraged my customers. [the Admiral said there'd be lots of  future peoples, that's pretty much one of the only things he remembers.] And I've only had the pleasure of bumbling about on a typewriter once before, so if you hear from me again in writing soon, I must apologize. So many new things to take in!

But where are my manners? How do you do, fellow travelers? [It's odd to be introducing himself indoors; he doesn't have a hat to remove, and so his fingers just hover near his temple for half a second before he drops his hand entirely.] I am Doctor King Schultz, formerly a dentist by trade, but now I will be rambling with you a ways if you should care to have me.

(ooc: Yes, those of you who read my sample would know there's a story missing -- I'm going to save that for another post where he can talk at length.)
