[If it had been a few days ago, he probably would have dismissed the question. It's private business, nobody else's concern but his and D'Amico's, except after his conversation with Kay he does understand there's some merit to be had in answering. Preventing bridges from being burned, potential allies from being lost. So there's a disgruntled noise to begin with, but he answers all the same, even if it's begrudging.
